What is yoga?
Besides asanas (poses or “stretching”), there are actually eight limbs of yoga including meditation, breathing exercises and moral values, but Yoga in the sense of a physical practice is a way to connect the mind, body and breath—it also helps to strengthen and lengthen your muscles by working them in new ways.

Do I have to be flexible to do yoga?
NO! Yoga is not about being physically flexible. Yes, practicing yoga will help to develop flexibility but it is not a pre-requisite. There are many modifications and props to help all levels of ability.

How do I know if yoga is for me?
I always suggest everyone gives yoga at least one try. There are many different styles of yoga asana practice out there. Some are more mentally and/or physically challenging while others are very relaxing and restorative. Also, there are many studios and teachers, each with their own uniqueness. I believe there is some form of yoga for everyone; you just need to be open minded and willing to try.
